I grew up in South-eastern Idaho where I graduated from Ricks College (now BYU-I) with an art degree. I then studied at BYU-Provo earning a BFA in graphic design. I currently study watercolor with master teachers and continue to learn daily. In addition to watercolor, I also teach high school drawing and painting in Tooele, Utah. I gain a fresh outlook from my students and feel tested every day that I teach....two-hundred and thirty-two teenagers keep you on your toes. I live in this small town with my husband, children and a herd of small pets and love the people here.
I have always loved watercolor and the fresh fluid approach that it lends to painting. I believe that if we paint what we know, in the places we know, we have an authenticity about our work that speaks to others. I love painting things that are not obviously beautiful. Rusted metal and weathered things outdoors are favorites.
